straub and katzmann are done.
Parker has hired at least three, and I think four.
I believe Katzmann is accepting applications and interviewing.
Jacobs is actively screening (law school grad) applications for 2008-09. He has already hired two and will hire one -- and may hire two -- more.
I know Straub is done (as noted above) and that Cabranes is done. I believe Raggi is interviewing at least grads because I got a call aroudn 7/15 (though I had by then already accepted)

To the poster who had secured a clerkship before 7/15, are you willing to disclose your stats? Just curious.
according to my law school's career center, kaztmann is hiring for '09; done for '08.
My understanding was that Cabranes wasn't "done" so much as just not hiring. Is this true? Just curious.
Cabranes did hire for 08-09, but he finished a while ago, if that clarifies.

Katzmann always hires 2 years out b/c he requires clerks to serve a year in a district court first. (He will help set them up though, if necessary).
Cabranes hired 2 for this year in last year's hiring cycle. He had one spot open as of a few weeks ago, but it could be filled by now.
Pretty sure Parker is full. (He hires for slightly irregular terms though, so it is possible that he is interviewing for a 1.5 or 2 year position starting a year or so down the road).
Newman is interviewing.

Wesley's law clerks called his pre-screened applicants on Friday, he will call for interviews on Tuesday.

Calabresi made at least some calls yesterday. He's interviewing at least one Texas Law 3L.

Katzmann called people yesterday to schedule interviews for 2009-2010 term clerkships.
Sack, Livingston, Walker and Kearse called yesterday.
Hall called today
Parker violated the rules by hiring one 3L for '08-'09 and one 3L for '09-10 before the September 19 interview/hiring date. Stanford and Yale 3Ls.

Wesley is def done calling. (As, lets be honest, are all 2nd Cir. judges by now). Interviews to a bunch of different schools. Is there are a particular school you're wondering about?

Hall hired an HLS 3L. He will be hiring for 09-10 soon and/or at the same time as he's hiring for 08-09.
When did Hall hire the HLS 3L? Did he call or give the offer on the spot? Has anyone else been called? I assume judges contact their choices all at once, correct? In that case, if you have not heard from Hall, it means you have not been picked, correct?
Straub has even hired for 2010-11!!! (A 2007 Columbia Law grad.) Wow. Judges sure are filling up their clerkship slots far well in advance...
I don't think judges necessarily contact all of their choices at once. I don't know the particular situation with Judge Hall, but I know of another judge who hired some clerks on the first day and kept one spot open until finishing interviews on the 2nd day.

Jacobs is already done. Livingston and Kearse have hired two each, at least. Raggi and Sack have hired at least one each.
A comment on the LawClerkAddict blog, for what its worth, says Hall hired another from Cornell.
If anyone knows, was it a 3L from Cornell? For 2008-09 or 2009-10?

Walker hired Penn and NYU, in addition to the YLS grad already on board. He also hired two for 09-10.
Katzmann will be taking three from Rakoff's chambers for 09-10 -- YLS, NYU, and Fordham.
Is Hall hiring for 09-10 now or is that just a rumor?
Hall indicated he would consider candidates for 09-10. Hall only had 2 spots open for next year, because he had hired two already (during the previous year). I do not know if Hall has given offers for 09-10 yet. Would greatly appreciate information about that.

Another round of applications? Ummmm.... no. Let's face it. ALL of the Second Circuit judges interviewed for next year, AND the year after. All or almost all, anyway. Straub has hired for 3 years out. Already. I suppose people could send stuff, but it's probably already done. Finished. The results just haven't shown up here.
Let's be real people. There is no "other round of applications" other than next year. Looks like we've missed the boat.
Has anyone who interviewed with Hall received a rejection letter?
I interviewed with Hall and received only a generic email via OSCAR, seemingly sent to all applicants, indicating that the 08-09 slots had been filled.
I also interviewed with Hall and did not receive a rejection letter.
Any information on the 2009-2010 clerks would be greatly appreciated!
