Post an anonymous comment with information regarding clerkship interviews, hirings, vacancies, and the like, regarding the Judges of the Third Circuit.
When people say "scheduling" do they mean the judge has already called and left a message, and people are already calling back to schedule interviews? Or does "scheduling" just refer to getting a call to schedule an interview?
Aldisert's chambers sent out an email at 9:01 this morning asking selected applicants to call and schedule an interview. The email was not personalized, so my guess is that it was sent at the same time to all the applicants he wanted to interview in person.
2:13- I also received a call from Fisher (& had not posted about it on here). Thus, it looks like there are now at least 5 posts on here about his 2 waves of scheduling that all appear to be from different posters. I'd assume that he is interviewing a large pool.
For those of us who interviewed with Fisher but did not receive calls, hopefully he closed FLCIS because he is not accepting any more applications and will be calling after the weekend. *fingers crossed*
Is there a reason there's so much interest in Fisher? I'm a 2L trying to get a sense for next year. I'm wondering why he seems to have more interest than some of the others on this circuit?
Because some people interviewed with him on Wednesday and Thursday, and they are trying to get a feel as to whether he has extended all of the offers already.

Stapleton is interviewing grads
Have Fisher, Hardiman or Weis (Pittsburgh) started interviewing any grads? When do they typically start?
Garth is done
Chagares is interviewing grads
I think Fisher and Weis wait until (mid?) August to interview grads. Not sure about Hardiman.
J. Roth has hired one.
are there any positions available in D. Del, besides Robinson and the bankruptcy judges? no one else is on either OSCAR or the clerkship database.
Judge Barry hired at least one clerk to start fall 2008.
Barry's chambers said she was finished when I called, but might want to confirm.
Got the same answer from Barry's chambers - and she's not accepting 2009 term apps yet either.
Ambro has hired two.
Smith is done according to Oscar.
Does anyone know whether Scirica has started hiring?
Sloviter has one.
Stapleton is done for 08-09.
Chagares has hired one for 2008-2009.
Cowen is interviewing grads.
Ambro is done
Not true about Ambro.
Greenberg has at least one.
Jordan has hired at least one.
Chagares has hired three
Aldisert's clerks are conducting pre-interviews over the phone, but indicate that he will follow the plan as to scheduling personal interviews.
How many pre-interview calls does Aldisert make? What are they looking for?
General question: What's the deal with Aldisert? A 3rd circuit judge sitting in Santa Barbara? Does he take many cases still?
aldisert's in Santa Barbara for health reasons. |He hears cases through teleconference.
Fisher is scheduling
has Aldisert called yet?
Who has called today?
Fisher is scheduling
Chief Judge Scirica is scheduling.
When people say "scheduling" do they mean the judge has already called and left a message, and people are already calling back to schedule interviews? Or does "scheduling" just refer to getting a call to schedule an interview?
Has anyone heard from Aldisert today?
Nope, 1:45PM. I'm really hoping he comes through though.
Ambro is calling for 09-10
Aldisert seems like the type of guy who would make calls first thing in the morning. But maybe that's just my pessimism.
any word on hardiman?

Anyone know how many people Fisher generally interviews or whether he tends to make offers on the spot?
As of about 12:15p, Hardiman was calling to schedule interviews.
Fisher is calling for Sep 19 & 20 interviews.
Hardiman is calling for Sep 24 interviews.
Jordan is scheduling.
Weis?
Anyone know how Fisher makes offers? At the interview? Or X days later? Also, anyone know if he gives any time to think about it?
Does anyone know if Chagares called
Fisher made some more calls for 19/20 interviews.
Any guesses as to how many that means he is bringing in to interview? Over 10?
he=Fisher
I heard that Columbia, SC judge just filled a spot.
Oops, ignore last post, i'm in the wrong circuit.
so much for attention to detail...
I would like to know if Fisher offers on the spot as well.

Well, Fisher is only doing two days. I can't imagine more than 4 or 5 per day.
I've never heard of Judge Fisher making an exploding offer.
Van Antwerpen?
Van Antwerpen has made at least some calls (probably Friday or today, but I don't know for sure when).
Anyone hear anything about Fuentes?
Fisher notifies within the week.
Anyone hear from Fisher yet?
Fisher already set up interviews if that's what you are asking.
Offers likely tomorrow.
Does anyone know if Cowen has hired yet?
I know Fisher is done interviewing, I am interested in whether anyone who has interviewed with him has heard back yet?
I know someone who interviewed with him, but that person has not received a call today, Friday, as of yet. Anyone else?
Same. No calls yet from Fisher.
I am the 8:01 poster, no call either.
End of business on Friday... no calls for Fisher?
Fisher posted as filled on FLCIS, I am assuming that means he is done.
For those of us who interviewed with Fisher but did not receive calls, hopefully he closed FLCIS because he is not accepting any more applications and will be calling after the weekend. *fingers crossed*
Ha. I have same hope. It is dim.
Fisher's OSCAR listing also says "Filled." No one has news on whether he made Friday calls??
Fisher rejection letter received today, Saturday the 22nd.
So I guess Fisher filled his spots but no one who got them reads the blog or wants to post?
11:45AM -- I assume you interviewed with Fisher, or did you just apply and get the letter?
Yep. Had interview, got rejection letter.
Not surprised. His office was sketchy about this whole process.
Is there a reason there's so much interest in Fisher? I'm a 2L trying to get a sense for next year. I'm wondering why he seems to have more interest than some of the others on this circuit?
My friend got an offer from Fisher on Thursday night.
Because some people interviewed with him on Wednesday and Thursday, and they are trying to get a feel as to whether he has extended all of the offers already.
Van Antwerpen has hired at least two.
Hardiman hired a Northwestern 3L today.
Does anyone know anything about Chagares?
Aldisert is done. Hired 1 from Hastings and 1 from UCLA.
I heard that Fisher hired one from Penn.
where else did fisher hire from?
Is Scirica done?
I wonder if the number of applications received by Sloviter has decreased since the publication of The Chambermaid.
Barry hired two BC grads, one who currently clerks for a federal district judge and one who currently clerks for a state supreme court.
Yes, 10/2/07, Scirica is done. Finished on the first day, I believe.
what ever happened with fuentes?
Received a rejection letter from Jordan yesterday, confirming his hiring is complete.
