Anyone hear from Lipez?
Lipez follows the plan.
Even for alums?
He accepts them early from alums and will probably take a look at them, but he will not likely hire any before the Plan schedule (of course, there are always exceptions).
Lipez has already hired one, and had called 3 more for interviews. Also, Selya and Lynch are interviewing/have interviewed.
Any news on Torruella?
I am new to this process. What is meant when you say alum? Alum of the judge's school or just someone who has already graduated (i.e. a non law student)?
to 6:52 -- "alum" refers to any old graduate, meaning an applicant not covered by the law clerk hiring plan.
I believe Stahl has been placing calls...
Torruella hired a D Mass clerk for 08-09. He went to BU and is a certified superstar.

Did Torruella hire for boston or pr chambers? anyone know if he extends interviews generally, or is it location-specific?

I called Judge Howard's chambers to check last Friday. He actually answered the phone himself and said that he has not finished hiring yet.

I called Howard's chambers this morning, and he isn't done hiring.
But what does that mean? Is he still thinking about who, among those he's interviewed, he will hire? Or is he considering interviewing additional candidates?
It means that Howard and his staff are being very stingy with info on their hiring process. Try calling; I'd be interested to hear whether anyone has better luck in ascertaining what's going on.
