Does anyone know if any federal judges in Cincinnati are hiring term clerks?
Rogers likes to hire at least 1 grad. Last year's was a top Chicago alum. He's also hiring a UK Law student. So, basically 2 spots are open for remaining 3Ls out there. I believe he's willing to teleconference. Good luck.
Anyone know where Griffin hired from? Thought I had a good shot because I had a pleasant and what I would consider successful phone interview, so I'm curious to know about his final hiring decisions. The FLCIS has his positions filled as of 8/28
Boggs looks at the quiz to see if prospective clerks share his interests -- it's definitely not the only thing he considers but all of his clerks have been pretty well-versed in at least some of the subject areas on the quiz.
So anyone heard how many people get the quiz? Is it the majority of the applicant pool? Please chime in, those of you that have applied to him in past years.
Does anyone know about Judge Siler? Supposedly he started reviewing applications on Friday, Sept. 14, so I thought he might have started giving interviews
Are you kidding? If Judge Siler really just started looking at apps on the 14th, how could he possibly be calling already? (Hint: it takes more than 2 days to look over hundreds of applications and pull out a handful to call. Especially because any judge who didn't begin looking at apps the moment they could probably isn't the type of judge to spend every waking moment of their weekend reviewing apps).
I don't know about that, 3:20. You can easily cut out a good number of the apps by looking at discrete, objective criteria (e.g., grades and publication record). At least 50% of the apps can be screened based solely on resumes. A two-day turnaround doesn't strike me as absurd.
I have to say this - After 2 years of applications and 2 failed interviews, I finally landed a 6th Cir. clerkship (the judge is already listed as filled on this board, so I have no new information). For those of you who haven’t yet secured a clerkship this year, don’t give up - Luck favors the persistent.
Sept 19 5:56 - When I spoke to Daughtrey's chambers to set up an interview they assured me the Judge did not make offers on the spot and would not make any until she had completed her interviews tomorrow evening. Was her NYU hire a current 3L or a graduate?
Norris was supposed to be interviewing his last person on Saturday, which is why I was surprised when someone above said he was finished hiring and had canceled interviews. He had said he was planning to finish interviewing before hiring, but it's possible he changed his mind I guess. Norris only hires one term clerk.
4:03 PM, are you confident Norris has in fact not finished hiring yet?
Not sure firsthand at all, but possibly Norris thinned out the interviews that remained today and tomorrow (Saturday) as he gets closer to a decision, who knows, but I've seen another judge doing this.
Judges who are done: Griffin Batchelder Martin Merrit Daughtrey Gibbons Kennedy Moore Keith Gilman Norris McKeague Rogers Suhrheinrich Cook Sutton Siler
Judges who have hired at least one but no one knows if they are done: Cole Clay Boggs

There are no circuit judges based in Cincinnati, you should repost this on the district court thread
John Rogers is interviewing grads.
Judge Gil Merritt has hired at least one (Georgetown).
Judge Richard Griffin only hires individuals with clerkship experience.
Is Griffin interviewing yet?
Don't know, I just wanted to let any potential 3Ls know about Griffin's policy of hiring former clerks.
Griffin is not interviewing yet according to chambers
Sutton has hired one grad so far.
Any word on which school Sutton hired from?
Sutton's hire was from Northwestern.
Griffin is calling to set up phone interviews
Siler is interviewing grads. Anyone know if he has made any hires?
Any word on what Judge Griffin's phone interviews are like? How many he is interviewing?
Re: Siler, he has been known to wait until as late as October to make offers, even though he does interview early.
Anyone receive an on sight invitation to interview with Judge Griffin after today's phone interviews?
8/14/07 at 2:47,
I did not receive an onsite invitation, and was told I'd hear either way next week. If that helps at all (which it probably doesn't).
Has Rogers made any offers to grads? Will there be room left for 3L applicants?
Rogers likes to hire at least 1 grad. Last year's was a top Chicago alum. He's also hiring a UK Law student. So, basically 2 spots are open for remaining 3Ls out there. I believe he's willing to teleconference. Good luck.
Anyone here get an on-sight interview with Griffin?
Anyone know if Bathcelder has hired yet?
Judge Gilman has hired one graduate for 08-09
Any word on Griffin yet?
Anyone know anything about Judge Cook?
Gilman has hired one graduate.
Griffin has hired one according to chambers
I assume that means Griffin has called all the people he intends to...?
Don't know - I would assume so, but he did have two positions open, and I only know one person who accepted
Griffin is done.
Where did Griffin hire from?
Batchelder is done.
Batchelder is done.
anyone know where batchelder hired from?
Anyone know where Griffin hired from? Thought I had a good shot because I had a pleasant and what I would consider successful phone interview, so I'm curious to know about his final hiring decisions. The FLCIS has his positions filled as of 8/28
Any knowledge of Daughtrey's time frame and/or how many she has already hired?
Any word on McKeague?
Boggs has sent out the quiz.
Siler sent out letters today stating he is on vacation but will be considering applications when he returns - assuming this means he's still hiring.
What exactly does Boggs do with this quiz??
Hopefully he doesn't consider it too much, it's pretty damn hard!
Boggs looks at the quiz to see if prospective clerks share his interests -- it's definitely not the only thing he considers but all of his clerks have been pretty well-versed in at least some of the subject areas on the quiz.
What percentage of applicants does Boggs send his quiz to? Nearly everyone?
Any word on Judge Gibbons?
Daughtrey interviews grads and 3Ls at the same time, on the plan.
Gibbons has done some interviewing, but mostly in conjunction with Gilman's interviewing.
Norris has sent out a supplemental application.
anyone heard from boggs since the quiz?
Haven't heard...I assume he'll call in accordance with the Plan.
So anyone heard how many people get the quiz? Is it the majority of the applicant pool? Please chime in, those of you that have applied to him in past years.
Kennedy has called.
Who has called today?
Boggs has been calling
Cook and Rogers have called.
A poster on xoxo said that Gilman and Gibbons have been calling. Any word on Rogers?
Any word on Moore?
Kennedy has called.
Daughtrey is calling.
Has Judge Sutton started calling yet?
Rogers has called, Moore has called...any word on Sutton?
Does anyone know if Rogers is done calling? What about Daughtrey?
Anyone know if McKeague is calling?
Anyone know about Keith or Ryan?
Any word on Norris?
Daughtrey has finished calling
Norris and McKeague are both calling.
Did Sutton make any calls today? Is he done?
Is Norris done calling? And has Sutton begun calling yet?
Keith finished calling a week ago
Cole anyone?
anyone in a position to speculate how many people boggs invited for interviews? i heard he often invites more people than other judges.
Anyone know if McKeague gives exploding offers?
You will probably have a couple of hours to respond.
Arnold anyone?
I heard Gibbons is interviewing as many as 35 or more people.
Gibbons does typically interview a number of people because she is focused on personality fit (something you can only determine after an interview).
Moore?
Martin is (likely) done. At least one from BU.
Merritt is done hiring.
Martin has also hired one from Michigan.
Does anyone happen to know when Judge Sutton will be making calls?
Judges who have hired at least one (as far as I have heard)
Rogers
Gillman
Cole
Judges who are done (as far as I have heard)
Griffin
Batchelder
Martin
Merritt
Please add to the list if you have any additional information
I'm not sure how many he has open now, but Judge Boggs is planning to keep at least one position open until the weekend.
Does anyone know about Judge Siler? Supposedly he started reviewing applications on Friday, Sept. 14, so I thought he might have started giving interviews

Touche 3:20. However, Judge Siler is supposed to begin interviews on Wednesday the 19th, so a Monday call didn't seem out of the question.
Siler has begun emailing invitations to interview
I have to say this - After 2 years of applications and 2 failed interviews, I finally landed a 6th Cir. clerkship (the judge is already listed as filled on this board, so I have no new information). For those of you who haven’t yet secured a clerkship this year, don’t give up - Luck favors the persistent.
Anyone here from Clay or Cole?
Clay interviewed some last week, not sure if he's done yet. Cole supposedly has one spot left.
Daughtrey hired one from NYU
does boggs give exploding offers? has he made any offers yet?
Moore hired a Texas 3L. Rogers made an offer to a Texas 3L.
Gibbons has hired 2 / 4
Sept 19 5:56 - When I spoke to Daughtrey's chambers to set up an interview they assured me the Judge did not make offers on the spot and would not make any until she had completed her interviews tomorrow evening. Was her NYU hire a current 3L or a graduate?
Siler hired a Georgetown grad
Kennedy hired yesterday morning from Michigan.
Cook hired one from Michigan.
Gilman has 3/4; he says he's waiting until tomorrow to make a final offer.
Sept. 19, 11:59: Daughtrey hired a 3L. She usually doesn't make offers on the spot, but she did yesterday. There should still be two spots open.

I don't think Guy is hiring term clerks
any word on which school(s) Norris hired from?
Gilman is done.
Has Ryan really not called anyone? Come on now, fess up.
I think it's not very nice for judges to fill all their spots before they've met with all of their scheduled candidtes.
3:24, which judge cancelled on you?
Norris is not finished interviewing, not sure where or if he has hired from.
Norris was supposed to be interviewing his last person on Saturday, which is why I was surprised when someone above said he was finished hiring and had canceled interviews. He had said he was planning to finish interviewing before hiring, but it's possible he changed his mind I guess. Norris only hires one term clerk.
