Judge Kozinski doesn't follow the plan and is currently interviewing. He's already hired one from Stanford.
Hmm, Silverman's chambers told our career services office that he was following the Plan and wouldn't even look at alumni applications until the Plan dates. Frustrating.
It's fine if judges don't want to follow, the Plan, but it would nice if they were candid about what they are going to do.
O'Scannlain: if you interview and he asks you what you want to do after clerking for him, tell him that you want to clerk for SCOTUS. This answer is the only right one, the only one he'll accept.
Fisher has sent an email to candidates who MAY be contacted for an interview tomorrow (don't know if that means they are still deciding or if they have a ranked list and may not make it to the bottom).
Am I screwed if I got a call this morning, told them I'd call back shortly to schedule after meetings/classes, and won't be calling back til 4:45 PM eastern time? (I'm assuming no, but figured I'd ask...) Really don't want to lose my interview or end up too low on the queue. Cheers.
I can't speak for Judge Bea as a boss (though I know his chambers generally wears ties and/or suits), but I can say that he is an extremely interesting, genuinely nice man, and an extremely thoughtful judge.
I have an interview with McKeown for 2009-2010. Does anybody know how many people are interviewing for her spots? Also, if you aren't her first interviewee, do you risk all the spots being filled before you interview?
2:34-2:35 refers to when you posted. There is info there about at least one of the judges you mention. If there isn't, its not going to be on this thread.
Sorry -- I was responding to the post about Ikuta and Fletcher having made "at least some calls." I was wondering whether that person thought more calls from those chambers were forthcoming.
I heard some judges may still have spots open. It may be a good idea if there is a judge you love and think you are competitive to call or otherwise contact chambers and let them know you are still available.

Judge Hug has hired one clerk so far, a post-grad from Yale.

As far as I know, Graber also follows the Plan.
I heard Schroeder interviews early. Anyone know if she's already done?
Fernandez has hired one.
Is it true that Judge Willie Fletcher in SF has already hired a clerk for 2008-09? If so, what school?
McKeown is interviewing and has hired a Yale grad.
Fletcher has hired one, from Boalt.
Judge Cynthia Holcomb Hall is not following the plan and still has openings (source: call to chambers).
I know Kleinfeld does not follow the plan. I know he has called one person to "pre-interview." Not sure if this helps anyone who applied to Kleinfeld.
Any info on Paez, Berzon, Pregerson, or Tashima?
Reinhardt is the best clerkship on the 9th Circuit.
Kleinfeld is continuing to have additional phone "pre-interviews." If you've applied to Kleinfeld, be prepared for a phone interview without warning.
Fernandez is done. Has been for months.
Reinhardt was always better in his own mind than in the real world. Way past his prime now. If you're a lefty, Berzon's the way to go.
Bea and Noonan are interviewing grads.
Silverman looks to be done, according to FLCIS.
Hmm, Silverman's chambers told our career services office that he was following the Plan and wouldn't even look at alumni applications until the Plan dates. Frustrating.
It's fine if judges don't want to follow, the Plan, but it would nice if they were candid about what they are going to do.
Bea hired at least one clerk. Has interviewed other grads.

Has Judge Kozinski finished hiring? Does anyone know if it would still be worth sending in my application?
Any word on whether Judges Bybee and Ikuta are interviewing?
Ikuta has hired at least one. I believe Bybee has conducted some interviews.
In general, is it worth it for 3L's to apply to anyone now or should I just wait for my apps to go out on Sept. 4?
Schroeder is interviewing now, but isn't making offers until the plan date.
Kleinfeld has hired two and has one spot remaining. He does not follow the plan.
What about SF based judges? Any hiring yet besides the big K?

Read the Ca dist ct thread; 234-235.
I don't know what that means; I looked at the CA D.Ct. thread but didn't see anything related. What does 234-235 refer to?
I have an interview with McKeown for 2009-2010. Does anybody know how many people are interviewing for her spots? Also, if you aren't her first interviewee, do you risk all the spots being filled before you interview?
2:34-2:35 refers to when you posted. There is info there about at least one of the judges you mention. If there isn't, its not going to be on this thread.

Were the previous posts referring to Sydney Thomas, or is there another Judge Thomas that is hiring? Just checking and keeping my hopes up!
There is only one Judge Thomas on the Ninth.

Browning was down to ten finalists as of two weeks ago, and sounded like he would hire by Feb. 8th - has anyone gotten the call?
anything on rawlinson or wallace?
Browning is done.
Anyone know when judges will start looking at law school grad applicants (who aren't bound by the hiring plan) for the 2009-10 term?
Some have already started. Typical, however, is around May/June.
Has anyone heard from the judges who are already accepting apps for the 09-10 term? (Kleinfeld, Smith)
