Judge Kozinski doesn't follow the plan and is currently interviewing. He's already hired one from Stanford.

Anonymous said...

Judge Hug has hired one clerk so far, a post-grad from Yale.

Anonymous said...

betty fletcher is done.

Anonymous said...

12:12 - how do you know this?

Anonymous said...

one of her current clerks told me.

Anonymous said...

Judge Rymer has hired one post-grad early and has three spots left on FLCIS.

Anonymous said...

Does O'Scannlain follow the plan?

Anonymous said...

and what about Graber (and the plan)?

Anonymous said...

O'Scannlain interviews early but takes applications with the plan

Anonymous said...

As far as I know, Graber also follows the Plan.

Anonymous said...

I heard Schroeder interviews early. Anyone know if she's already done?

Law Clerk Addict said...

Fernandez has hired one.

Anonymous said...

Is it true that Judge Willie Fletcher in SF has already hired a clerk for 2008-09? If so, what school?

Anonymous said...

McKeown is interviewing and has hired a Yale grad.

Anonymous said...

Fletcher has hired one, from Boalt.

Anonymous said...

Judge Cynthia Holcomb Hall is not following the plan and still has openings (source: call to chambers).

Anonymous said...

I know Kleinfeld does not follow the plan. I know he has called one person to "pre-interview." Not sure if this helps anyone who applied to Kleinfeld.

Anonymous said...

Any info on Paez, Berzon, Pregerson, or Tashima?

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt is the best clerkship on the 9th Circuit.

Anonymous said...

Kleinfeld is continuing to have additional phone "pre-interviews." If you've applied to Kleinfeld, be prepared for a phone interview without warning.

Anonymous said...

Fernandez is done. Has been for months.

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt was always better in his own mind than in the real world. Way past his prime now. If you're a lefty, Berzon's the way to go.

Anonymous said...

Bea and Noonan are interviewing grads.

Anonymous said...

Silverman looks to be done, according to FLCIS.

Anonymous said...

Hmm, Silverman's chambers told our career services office that he was following the Plan and wouldn't even look at alumni applications until the Plan dates. Frustrating.

It's fine if judges don't want to follow, the Plan, but it would nice if they were candid about what they are going to do.

Anonymous said...

Bea hired at least one clerk. Has interviewed other grads.

Anonymous said...

Callahan is done (per OSCAR)

Anonymous said...

Has Judge Kozinski finished hiring? Does anyone know if it would still be worth sending in my application?

Anonymous said...

Any word on whether Judges Bybee and Ikuta are interviewing?

Anonymous said...

Ikuta has hired at least one. I believe Bybee has conducted some interviews.

Anonymous said...

In general, is it worth it for 3L's to apply to anyone now or should I just wait for my apps to go out on Sept. 4?

Anonymous said...

Schroeder is interviewing now, but isn't making offers until the plan date.

Anonymous said...

Kleinfeld has hired two and has one spot remaining. He does not follow the plan.

Anonymous said...

What about SF based judges? Any hiring yet besides the big K?

Anonymous said...

where did noonan hire from?

Anonymous said...

I heard that Judge Kozinski hired two from Stanford.

Anonymous said...

O'Scannlain has hired one from Notre Dame.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know where Fisher's first hire is from?

Anonymous said...

also, Wardlaw's first?

Anonymous said...

Mckeown just hired one more grad from G-town.

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt has hired two men and is looking for two more female clerks

Anonymous said...

What schools are the Reinhardt clerks from? Any idea?

Anonymous said...

Smith hired one already, maybe more???

Anonymous said...

Which Judge Smith?

Anonymous said...

Milan.

Anonymous said...

Kozinski hired one from Penn.

Anonymous said...

According to OSCAR, McKeown is done hiring for 08-09. She'll be taking applications for 09-10 instead.

Also, Hawkins is interviewing, but is not making offers until the plan date (Sept. 19).

Anonymous said...

Is Milan Smith done?

Anonymous said...

Milan Smith sent an email to candidates and is done.

Law Clerk Addict said...

I hope to have an even higher reporting rate of which judges hired from which schools. Please let me know!

Anonymous said...

Kleinfeld hired one from Emory.

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt hired a yale 3L

Anonymous said...

O'Scannlain: if you interview and he asks you what you want to do after clerking for him, tell him that you want to clerk for SCOTUS. This answer is the only right one, the only one he'll accept.

Anonymous said...

Fisher has hired one Columbia grad already.

Anonymous said...

Kozinski just hired a fourth from NYU.

Anonymous said...

Fisher has hired a YLS grad as well.

Anonymous said...

Fisher's YLS grad was hired for '09-10.

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt hired an HLS 3L.

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt hired a Harvard 3L.

Anonymous said...

Fisher has sent an email to candidates who MAY be contacted for an interview tomorrow (don't know if that means they are still deciding or if they have a ranked list and may not make it to the bottom).

Anonymous said...

Reinhardt hired an Harvard 3L

Anonymous said...

Am I screwed if I got a call this morning, told them I'd call back shortly to schedule after meetings/classes, and won't be calling back til 4:45 PM eastern time? (I'm assuming no, but figured I'd ask...) Really don't want to lose my interview or end up too low on the queue. Cheers.

Anonymous said...

Anyone hear from Thomas?

Anonymous said...

What are the chances of getting interview calls tomorrow from Ninth Circuit judges? Is it basically today or never?

Anyone?

Anonymous said...

Thomas sent emails near noon asking to call his chambers and schedule interviews.

Anonymous said...

Pregerson is done.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if Graber is done making calls?

Anonymous said...

4:29,

I can't speak for Judge Bea as a boss (though I know his chambers generally wears ties and/or suits), but I can say that he is an extremely interesting, genuinely nice man, and an extremely thoughtful judge.

Anonymous said...

Both Rymer and Hawkins called earlier today.

Anonymous said...

has O'Scannlain called?

Anonymous said...

Goodwin or Schroeder?

Anonymous said...

O'Scannlain is done already--he moved a little early this year.

Berzon called people yesterday.

Anonymous said...

From which schools did O'Scannlain hire?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if Bybee called?

Anonymous said...

What do you mean "at least some" calls? Are there more calls coming?

Anonymous said...

Read the Ca dist ct thread; 234-235.

Anonymous said...

I don't know what that means; I looked at the CA D.Ct. thread but didn't see anything related. What does 234-235 refer to?

Anonymous said...

I have an interview with McKeown for 2009-2010. Does anybody know how many people are interviewing for her spots? Also, if you aren't her first interviewee, do you risk all the spots being filled before you interview?

Anonymous said...

2:34-2:35 refers to when you posted. There is info there about at least one of the judges you mention. If there isn't, its not going to be on this thread.

Anonymous said...

10:48, when did you hear from McKeown? Does anyone else have a McKeown interview for 09-10?

Anonymous said...

Sorry -- I was responding to the post about Ikuta and Fletcher having made "at least some calls." I was wondering whether that person thought more calls from those chambers were forthcoming.

Anonymous said...

Judge Rymer is also done.

Anonymous said...

Judge Tashima is done.

Anonymous said...

i have heard unofficially that paez is done hiring.

Anonymous said...

do you know what judges still have openings?

Anonymous said...

Noonan is done

Anonymous said...

Schroeder has one position left according to chambers and is reconsidering applications...

Browning was down to ten finalists as of two weeks ago, and sounded like he would hire by Feb. 8th - has anyone gotten the call?

Anonymous said...

anything on rawlinson or wallace?

Anonymous said...

Browning is done.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know when judges will start looking at law school grad applicants (who aren't bound by the hiring plan) for the 2009-10 term?

Anonymous said...

Some have already started. Typical, however, is around May/June.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heard from the judges who are already accepting apps for the 09-10 term? (Kleinfeld, Smith)
