Bright has been interviewing
Shepherd has hired one.
Where did Shepherd hire from?
Shepherd's hire is from Vanderbilt
Shepherd's chambers reports that all 08-09 clerkship positions are filled.
I've heard that Bright has hired at least one clerk. From the University of Minnesota.
Shepherd has one from Harvard, I believe.
Judge Magill is retiring -- totally -- at the end of this month and is not hiring any more clerks. Not everyone has gotten the message.
Anyone know anything about Colloton?

It sounds to me like Shepherd either (a) convinced his '07 clerks to stay on another year, or (b) hired a bunch of grads.

Gibson called (at least) starting at noon, Tues 9/11. By 3pm that day, all his interview spots were full.

Gibson (Sr. Judge) has finished hiring. One clerk from Northwestern; one possibly from Missouri (can anyone confirm?).
As usual, Melloy has hired two clerks from Iowa. Also Colloton is done and at least one is from Iowa.
Loken is done. He hired one Harvard, one Yale, one Columbia, and one Georgetown. All are MN natives.

Judge Bye has extended at least one offer.
Benton e-mailed applicants to inform them he had concluded hiring.

Just got word from a classmate --
Gruender is done. He just hired a 3L from HLS to go along with his 3Ls from Chicago and Michigan State. (Yes, Michigan *State*.)
And one of his current (07-08) clerks will stay on for a second year, thus rounding out his staff.
Beam has hired a University of Richmond 3L.
This is 10/2, 1:48 here. Just to clarify, I did not put the emphasis on Michigan *State* out of some sense of elitism or counter-elitism. Rather, I just wanted to make clear that Gruender did not hire some damn dirty Wolverine.
