Heard from Bryant this morning- she is in trial next week and is scheduling interviews no earlier than Sept. 25.
Arterton is not an relaxed interview - she is Tough, Tough, Tough, and I interviewed with more than 7 judges (including Arterton) last year. Also, her law clerks work 8 - 8 or 8 - 7:30.
8:17 - Nothing that severe, very icy, very quick to question even your simplest answers - get ready to explain any and all weaknesses on your resume and transcript. She likes to challenge you. She asked me questions dealing with international law, choice of law, and subject matter jurisdiction. In short, the majority of the interview was a substantive legal discussion - and not a light one. Don’t expect to make nice and drink coffee. That said, it’s her call the way she wants to conduct her interviews - it just made me sweat more than any of my other clerkship interviews, and a round table interview with the USA’s office. Hope that helps.
Chatigny is very personable, it’s mostly a discussion of: 1) law school experiences pulled from your resume; 2) why you want to clerk for him; and 3) your future goals. Very typical stuff. He loves to talk about cases he’s worked on, so you should probably focus on 2 or 3 cases he’s written in the last year and know them well. Stay away from mentioning the whole Michael Ross fiasco, and you should be fine.
Kravitz filled his position(s) yesterday and canceled interviews today. Droney is keeping one position open until all his interviews are done but has filled one position.
I've heard that Underhill is a great clerkship -- a friend of mine clerked for him 3 years ago and said he was "definitely worth spending a year or two in Bridgeport." Super-smart and super-nice.
The interview is pretty straight-forward -- he likes to find a=out about who you are and how you'll fit in in the chambers.
I heard from Covello today - anyone have any tips on the interview?
Also, on Underhill, I have no knowledge about what he is like working with his clerks, but he visited a class I had last semester and he was incredibly engaging and nice - it made me wish I was applying to two year clerkships!
I don't know Underhill personally, but I did read an essay he wrote about clerking for Judge Newman on the 2d. Cir, in "Behind the Bench Guide to Judicial Clerkships" D. Strauss Based on that essay, I would guess he's a phenomenal judge to clerk for
According to OSCAR, Underhill is accepting applications through Friday, Dec. 21, but he's been accepting applications for a while. Has he made calls yet for interviews?

Word from Arterton, Burns, Covello, Droney, Squatrito, or Thompson?
In addition to the judges mentioned by 3:14, any word on Chatigny?
hall called yesterday for interviews
so, no word on arterton?
Arterton was my one call yesterday

Does anyone know of any CT district court judges who have not called to schedule interviews yet?
4:34 are you clerking now?
Droney made his calls
5:50 - yes
What's "Tough, Tough, Tough"? I've heard of judges making candidates draft rulings during the interview.

Anyone know what's up with Kravitz? Did they really stick to the 1pm or was that just a line?
Got a call from Dorsey today.
Anyone know how Chatigny conducts interviews?

Any interview tips/info on Droney or Kravitz?
Does Chatigny give offers on the spot?
Ditto for Underhill
Heard from Thompson yesterday... conducting interviews this week.
Kravitz filled his position(s) yesterday and canceled interviews today. Droney is keeping one position open until all his interviews are done but has filled one position.
Are any of the active district of connecticut judges known to be better or worse to work for? What are their reputations?
I don't think that Droney has filled any positions. My understanding is that he will not make offers until he has finished interviewing.
Judge Chatigny does make offers on the spot.

Anything on Covello yet?
any word on Hall?
Thompson is done.

Is Chatigny done? Has he even finished interviewing?
I'm also wondering if Chatigny is done. And, what about Droney?
Droney sent rejection e-mails recently. Burns sent application acknowledgements yesterday, so I think she's just now beginning to review materials.
Dorsey is done.
Has anyone heard from Bryant?
Spoke to Bryant's clerk. She has hired.
Don't have a name to share, but at least 1 Connecticut judge is still hiring. Best of luck to all of those still hoping.
Why won't you share the name if you know a judge still has spots?
Any word on Chatigny?
Underhill? Anything?
Anyone interviewed with Burns? Has she hired?
Has Chatigny started interviewing yet?
FLCIS says Chatigny is done.
According to OSCAR, Underhill is accepting applications through Friday, Dec. 21, but he's been accepting applications for a while. Has he made calls yet for interviews?
oscar says underhill's accepting apps through 1/25/2008.
Is that a recent change on Underhill's OSCAR entry? (FLCIS still shows 12/21/07.) Think that means none of the present applicants are satisfactory?
Underhill is interviewing right now.
If no interview offer, should we assume a rejection is coming?
I got my ding from U-Hill via email through OSCSAR
