I interviewed with Judges Kennedy, Sutin, Bustamante and Robinson on the Court of Appeals and Justice Bosson on the Supreme Court last week. If anyone wants more information just let me know.

Justice Chavez is just beginning to look at applications. Judge Fry on the Court of Appeals said she was would beginning to look at applications in the next few weeks.

Did the ones you interviewed with give any indication when they would be making a decision?

Justice Bosson said it would be in the next few weeks. He doesn't like to take too long.

Judge Kennedy said mid to late October.

Judge Robinson has someone he wants to clerk for him, but she won't graduate until January, so he trying to get his current clerk to stay until then. If he won't, he'll be hiring. No indication of when he would come to that realization.

Judges Bustamante and Sutin didn't have a time line. When they find the right person I guess.

Fry is done.

Have heard that the Santa Fe Court of App. judges are hiring, even though they are not advertising positions.

Justice Bosson has hired one. UNM. There looks to be one more spot available.

Vigil is done.

Bosson and Bustamante have strong preferences for UNM students. I'd be surprised if either one hired from another school.

What school did Vigil hire from?

My rejection letter didn't say who Judge Vigil had hired, just that he had filled the position. Same thing with Judge Fry. She didn't say who she had hired, only that she had hired.

I will say that those were the two nicest rejection letters I have ever received.

Oh I've received many a very nice rejection letter... still waiting on that even nicer offer!

Bustamante's hire was from UNM, as was Judge Fry's.

In the past, Justices Serna and Maes have not advertised for their open positions.

Justice Chavez has two spots and has not filled either; Justice Bosson has one more to fill.

So Bustamante has hired?

Anonymous said...

Yes. Bustamante is done.

Any word from Justice Bosson?

Chavez has made on UNM hire but I haven't heard of a second...some people have said that it might be a Harvard hire for the second.

Any word on Bosson's second hire?

Heard anything about Kennedy?

RE: Justice Chavez. By Harvard, do you mean "Harvard On The Rio Grande?"

Judge Sutin has hired. UNM.

Justice Bosson sent me a rejection letter.

Justice Charles Daniels, who was recently appointed to the state's highest court by Bill Richardson, is looking for a one-year term clerk who can start in Jan. 2008.

Judge Kennedy sent me a rejection letter.

Anyone know where Maes is in the process?

Anonymous said...

Where was Kennedy's hire from?

Anonymous said...

Justice Daniels has hired a UNM Alumnus.

Any word if Justice Charles Daniels is hiring for Fall 2008?

Anonymous said...

Daniels is done.

It is unclear whether he has hired for 2008. The two hires he made were supposed to have started right away.

Has Vigil hired yet? Heard he was still interviewing.
